A Special Interest Group on Neuroprotection has been set up by the European Glaucoma Society to investigate the current status of this potential form of therapy in glaucoma, to look at the scientific evidence available and to possibly promote further European collaborative reseach in the subject. The initial strategic meeting was held at the Western Eye Hospital in London on January 4th, 2008.

The first scientific "round-table" meeting of the Neuroprotection SIG took place in Leuven on May 4th. The summary of this meeting can be found here.

Anyone interested in participating in future meetings of the group and/or receiving email updates on the activities of the Neuroprotection SIG are invited to fill out the "expression of interest form" and send it back to Ingeborg Stalmans (e-mail).
