Glaucoma following childhood cataract surgery

Pearls Manager: Andrew Tatham

Secondary glaucoma is a frequent serious complication after cataract surgery in early infancy. The incidence may increase up to 50% if cataract surgery is performed before the 9th month of life. This secondary glaucoma is difficult to treat and often needs glaucoma drainage device surgery for long term intraocular pressure control.
