The Industry and Strategy Committee was one of several new committees drawn up by the incoming president, Clive Migdal, in June 2008. Its remit was to liase with the Industry Partners of the EGS to develop common goals in glaucoma education for ophthalmologists in Europe.

To date its main function as been to set out the terms and conditions of the educational support by the Industry Partners of the EGS, and to identify the returns to both Industry and the EGS.

To date there are 5 Industry Partners (Alcon, Allergan, Merck, Pfizer and Santen). All have agreed the terms of the partnership. In return our partners join us in this Liason Committee, and have preferential access to the teaching meetings (Open, Closed and Residents) organised by the EGS during the year.
